Generator Group’s Christmas Charity Donations 2020

Generator Group are proud to be supporting two fantastic charities this Christmas; Sanctus, a charity local to our Chelmsford office, and The Elifar Foundation.

Sanctus

The first charity we are supporting is Sanctus. Sanctus offers a safe and friendly environment for the homeless, vulnerable and those unable to provide for themselves. They provide a variety of essential services including free food, drink and a clothing exchange, as well as counselling, advice and advocacy to support life changes and improvement.

This year gave even greater emphasis as to why Sanctus’ work is so important. The Coronavirus pandemic and national lockdowns have created phenomenal need for food and caused unprecedented hardship. Sanctus were on the front line in supporting the vulnerable and saw queues down the street for their daily hot meals. Despite all the challenges 2020 has given, the team continued to work tirelessly staying open every single day this year; they even started to provide packed lunches as they realised the hot meal they offered was the only food some were getting all day.

Our Sales & Marketing Manager Ellie was able to meet Tracy to give our donation in person and visit the Chelmsford café where the hot meals are handed out (pictured). Tracy is just one of the people who dedicate their time to Sanctus so the charity can help as many people as possible. We hope to go back to Sanctus, when the pandemic allows, to take a tour and see in person how our donation helps Sanctus help people in our local area.

Sanctus are running a Christmas and New Year Appeal asking for donations to buy someone hot meals through the festive period. They also have a shoebox appeal where you can donate a shoebox full of helpful items for those who are vulnerable this Christmas. Elifar

The second charity we are supporting this Christmas is The Elifar Foundation. The Elifar Foundation focuses on improving the lives of disabled children and young adults both at home and in residential care. They fund vital, highly specialised but expensive equipment that would otherwise be unavailable due to a lack of funds or statutory provision.

Elifar strive to make this valuable equipment available to profoundly disabled young people along with the facilities and care they need to improve their lives and wellbeing. They also aim to support the families of these young people as these physical disabilities can create great financial, physical and emotional cost.
