Unconditional purchase of a 1.58 acre brownfield site, comprising hardstanding and a former Wickes warehouse of 26,600 square feet, located in the Portswood district of Southampton. Planning permission was granted within 6 months (significantly ahead of programme) for a scheme comprising 91 flats and 11 family houses. The planning process involved a comprehensive consultation process with neighbouring residents and local business occupiers, with the design adjusted accordingly to mitigate their concerns.

The scheme was successfully delivered as 100% affordable housing under a turnkey development agreement with Radian (now Abri) housing association, working in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency and Southampton City Council under the Government’s Kick-Start initiative.
